For those of you who have the funds to go to the Final Transmission on the 30th of May, I hope you feel pretty darned special, as I can't afford it at the moment but I wish I was going. Seeing Headhunterz live would be such an experience even for those who have never heard it before. Have fun everyone :)
For Canberrans who aren't keen to travel up to Sydney for Transmission or Prophecy in July, then don't fret, there are still plenty of decent local events coming up.
This Friday the 22nd of May there is the Transmission Warmup at Krave Bar, 10pm - 5 am - unfortunately its 18+ so afew of us miss out.
On Friday the 29th of May there is Nik Fish's show, with Nomad and Enerv8 as support acts at Academy from 10pm - 5am. I recently bought Nik Fish's compilation CD, and I HIGHLY recommend it. It has amazing remixes of Showtek's Aus show last year, Technoboy, Blutonium Boy, Headhunterz, and many more. If you're not 18 and can't go to this show then I definitely suggest you get this CD as it will blow your mind.
[If you're coming to my eighteenth for predrinks at tongue and groove the same night we're all heading to this after, going to be a good night!]
There is also another event Energize that's on in a couple of weeks time in Canberra as well, I'll check my facebook later for details and update here, but I know it's 18+.
Then during the next school holidays (July I think? Sorry, I'll update this later with better details) Neverest has come around again at the good ole Mitchell Rock Climbing Centre. Neverest last year was definitely a success, with a killer light show, and some really good acts. Neverest has always seemed to attract a bigger crowd than most Canberra raves so this next one has a lot of expectations put on it and hopefully it can fulfill them. There are plenty of videos on youtube and facebook of Neverest last year, I'll put some links up here soon where you can check out the pretty lasers :)
Ooooo and guess what. We're looking at another Utopia in Sydney in either September or November. This is definitely not something to miss, although I don't think much could beat those heart-warming flamethrowers and the ever so pretty ferris wheel.
Also in September, on the 19th Defqon 1 is going to rock the sydney crowd. Another 18+ event, unfortunately it's on the day that I fly to America, so all of you better go and dance that little bit extra harder for me.
For more updates, if you are a facebook user then join the group "I'M A RAVER". They have updates almost weekly of all of the events all around Australia, including weekly events [with v.i.p passes] and bigger events, from PHD to tiny raves all over the country.
Check here for more details, updates, shows and events soon.
For Oz Ravers
A blog written by a canberra raver; dedicated to describing my passion for this mindblowing subculture. It's about the music, the djs, the dancing, the lights, those unforgettable moments. This is directed at those both inside and outside the rave scene; hopefully attracting you to some amazing events. I hope to share this love with many of you.
